Catching Up

  • We started week 2 of my hundred pushup challenge. We being, of course, Marty and yours truly. Marty does one more pushup each round then I do, and he goes down a lot further. Tonight we did 9, 11, 8, 8, 11+. I figure I'm doing all right since just last week my max was 12. On the last one, I always let out a big moan and curl up in a little ball. Maybe a bit too dramatic.

  • Last night I ran on the treadmill at work. I'm very lucky to have a pretty nice weight room just a few buildings away from where I sit. My workout was 50min total of running, with 10 x 1min hard (1min easy in between). Since they were short intervals the 1 minutes needed to be fast - and I know I looked very ridiculous sprinting with my long stride on the treadmill with my coworkers walking or lightly doing the elliptical next to me. Luckily, I don't actually work with any of these people and they don't know who I am (at least I hope). I also get tired quick of staring at myself in the mirror that is directly in front of me, and seeing my horrible cross-over arm swing that I can't seem to correct.

  • I'm getting excited to watch IMFL! I can't wait to cheer everyone on and finally meet Marit and Mary. However, I'm not looking forward to the drive down and back.

  • Overall, my running is not going so well. I'm not totally sure why, but have a feeling it may have something to do with the fact I'm not following any sort of plan and am just winging it. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to be out there running at all, but I'm just frustrated with how it's all progressed over the past few months. We did another 5k this past weekend; just for a workout but I was still pretty disappointed with my time. At least I had on a cute outfit.

At least people in the gym don't take one look at you, wrinkle their nose and go to a different machine when they see the puddles of sweat on the floor!
VERY cute outfit! Stacy and Clinton would be proud...

Your outfit is very nice. I am jealous, I don't think I ever look cute racing. Maybe I should wear more pink?

Bri, sorry I missed you at IMFL. I think that was you that touch me on the shoulder to wish me good luck before the race in the hotel while we were taking pictures. Hope you had a good time. We had a BLAST! Great day!
